What is gluten intolerance?
It is an intolerance caused by ingestion of gluten and similar proteins that affects people with genetic predisposition. Gluten is a protein found in grains such as wheat, barley, rye, triticale (hybrid of wheat and rye) and others.
The gluten-free diet
The only current possible treatment is the gluten-free diet (GFD), which consists in eliminating all food products containing or cooked with wheat, rye, barley and oats, or any of its varieties and hybrids (spelled, kamut, triticale ...), and / or products, avoiding inadvertent contamination and all kinds of dietary transgressions.
Gluten-free Kelmy Fondant
The Kelmy Fondant are all suitable for coeliacs, they do not contain any ingredients that contain gluten, and neither is in any in-house manufacturing process.
Used for coating cakes and moulding shapes, including flowers, by adding a small amount of CMC to obtain a firmer texture.
Kelmy Fondant has a smooth, even texture. Pliable and stretchy. Does not crack and can be easily shaped. Is not sticky and can be kneaded as often as required. Does not stick to cutters or to plastic surfaces.
A wide range of colours. The colours are very bright and do not fade after the container is opened or after multiple uses. Has a mild vanilla scent. Excellent taste; all of the colours taste of vanilla rather than sugar. Soft without being gooey or grainy.
